I was preparing garlic and the sun was shining right on it. I just had to take a photo.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my kitchen. It was a locally grown garlic bulb I had just opened to make diner with.

Time

It was a late summer evening. As I was opening the garlic, the most beautiful light was beaming through the window hitting the bulb.

Lighting

This is the only spot in my kitchen where the light streams in. And it’s so soft in the evening.

Equipment

This was shot with an OMD Mark 10 II micro 4/3. M. Zuico 14-150mm lens at 150. Aperture of 80/10, ISO 100, on a tripod.

Inspiration

When I saw how wonderfully lit the bulb was I quickly got my camera out so that I didn’t miss it. The complimentary colours of red and green caught my eye.

Editing

No, there is no processing done to this photo.

In my camera bag

At the time I took this photo I only had a 14-150mm and a 14-32mm.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open for beautiful things in everyday objects. Life is beautiful, take time to capture it.
