Behind The Lens

Location

in Calgary, Alberta. I was in the front yard visiting with family when I saw a chance to get a gorgeous photo of my dog as she was beffing for attention.

Time

It was in the mid afternoon on a slightly overcast day. The natural lighting was terrific and turned out really well for the shot.

Lighting

The lighting was natural on the day and slightly overcast so I had no glare. It was a terrific chance for a gorgeous shot.

Equipment

It was shot with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel with no other equipment. I edited it to be black and white which actually shows the texture of her fur a little better.

Inspiration

The cuteness of my dog and the lighting f the afternoon were what inspired me to take a chance on getting a gorgeous shot which I then edited to be black and white.

Editing

I edited the color to make it black and white. I found it makes the texture of her fur stand out so much more.

In my camera bag

My canon eos digital rebel, my tripod, a telephoto lens, macro lenses, lens cleaner, laptop and spare memory cards just in case I fill up the memory card. Once I start the photo taking I forget to stop and empty the card tell the camera tells me nope I can't take anymore. I find having the extra card makes it quicker to get back to picture taking instead of stopping and loading onto my laptop.

Feedback

Pay attention to natural lighting and always have a camera on hand just in case that moment rears up and says time for a perfect picture.
