Location
This photo was taken at one of the iconic spots in Venice, on a square besides the main square of the San Marco Piazza. On this square is an entrance to the main church or basilica of which parts are seen here.Time
It was taken in the morning around 10.00, early march, 2017, when it was busy with visitors. That is why I cropped it slightly so the attention goes to the buildings with their beautiful marble details and not to the people crowding the place.Lighting
Part of one of the buildings is under construction or rather restoration as the scaffolding indicates. I did not at all mind leaving this part in sight here since I like the shadow-details on the covers of the scaffolding.Equipment
Nothing special really was used here. Just the camera I was using at the time with a short 18-85 zoomlens on my Nikon D7000.Inspiration
Just taking in the beautiful scenery of the historic city and it's late Gothic buildings here.Editing
For most of my images from Florence and Venice of my 2017 visit I used rather simple processing in ACR and Photoshop and used a light blend of textures throughout, to enhance the atmosphere of the whole series of images. In my camera bag
At the time I mostly used my Nikon D 7000 camera with a number of different zoom-lenses. At present I use FujiFilm camera's (X-T20 and X-T4) with a number of zoom-lenses and also a number of fast short primes.Feedback
Enjoy historic cities and enjoy the scenery of buildings and street-scenes.
