Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on walking or cycling distance from my home in the city of Dordrecht in the surrounding landscape on or just off the island of Dordrecht. Land and landscape reclaimed from the sea that once flooded it during the St. Eizabeth Flood in 1421.

Time

Living on the edge of town close to these adjacent landscape I can see the sudden changes of weather when near the end of the day the mists start rolling in.

Lighting

Conditions like these do not really need anything but the ability to make use of the available light.

Equipment

This was shot on Nikon D 7000 with 16-85 mm short Nikon tele-zoom at 85mm ISO 100, F 10,0 and SS 1/400, underexposed 1/3 stop.

Inspiration

Always when the weather makes the landscape come out best it's time to go out for a walk or cycle-trip with camera.

Editing

Nothing very special here. Just a pretty simple conversion to B&W.

In my camera bag

At the time I was shooting on Nikon with a number of zoom-lenses and macro-lens. At present I use FujiFilm X-T20 and X-T4 cameras with different Fujinon zoom-lenses and a number of short primes from FujiFilm and Viltrox.

Feedback

I have always been travelling and photographing abroad in Europe and the US. Yet the surroundings very close by have always remained to be a great inspiration, since I know the landscape, the cities, the architecture and when and where the best circumstances arise and the weather changes for favorable conditions.
