Color is a result of normal glacial processes. Lago Argentino receives most of the ice from the glaciers of Perito Moreno and Upsala, responsible for its greenish and milky color. This characteristic is due to the crushed sediments formed by the abrasion of the ice when scraping against the rocks. These fine sediments are a white powder that hangs in the water, altering its coloration. When the color of the water is more bluish, it means that the lake is receiving less sediment from these rocks.
