Location
This was taken in Venice, Italy walking towards St. Mark's Square.Time
It was taken in the evening. I believe it was just after sunset.Lighting
Walk into the shadows to appreciate contrast and detail in Venice.Equipment
Nikon D850 Aperture f/11?ISO 400?Shutter 8/1?Focal Length 44mm. Used a Gitzo tripod and Gitzo head.Inspiration
Loved the shadows, arches and subtle light that accentuated the arches and lead the eye to the square at the end. TI felt that the addition of some figures in the shadows added to the image.Editing
Yes I do some processing. Just basic corrections in Lightroom then some contrast adjustments, mono conversion (with Silver Effects) and dodging and burning in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I'm fortunate to have a wonderful camera and some great glass that I've built up over some years. My Camera is a Nikon D850 which I absolutely love. I have a 16-35 F4, 24-70 F2.8, 70-200 F2.8, 50mm F1.8, 105mm F2.8 Macro and a 200-500 F5.6. I have a really sturdy Gitzo tripod and Gitzo head.Feedback
Have some time to yourself when visiting these amazing places. It's great to take family along, of course, but creativity and composition are ruined by kids wanting to get some more ice cream as you're trying to set up for a shot.
