My photo was taken at sunrise at Bow Lake in Banff National Park.Time
I started this particular tour From Calgary, Alberta. With a 2.5 hour drive ahead of us and a sunrise at around 7:00am we had to leave by 4:00am to give us time to set up and find a favourable position. For this photo I had to wait until the lake calmed down as best it could. My photo was taken as HDR to allow me to bring out the sharpness and colours of this beautiful area.Lighting
I waited until the sun was shining on this mountain. I had taken several shots with the sun coming down and this is the one I liked the best.Equipment

I have always wanted to photograph this mountain and lake and finally, I got the shot I wanted.Editing
This was a 3 shot HDR photo, processed in Aurora HDR 2019. Then further rendered in Luminar 3.In my camera bag
I always have my Canon EOS Mark III with the 70-200mm, 24-70mm, and 16-24mm lenses. I also carry different filters that I use as required for the shot I want.Feedback
Keep trying for the photo you want. It is not easy when you have to deal with weather situations. I always check the weather apps, but they are not always accurate. If I can't get what I went out for, I fall back on my filters to make something else out of the shot.
