I was there last year and it was great. This year the rules go changed and the sent groups thru every 10 mins couldn't even open our tripods. The on top of that they had a wedding party doing photography in the best parts of the slots. I really love this place bit it might be a while before I go back. This is a wonderful capture of what I think is magical about the canyons. Congrats on this masterpiece.

Location
Photo was taken at Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona. I was on the Photographer's tour of the upper canyon.Time
This was taken around 9:00 am October, 2015.Lighting
The light beam effect is good this time of year.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III Canon 16-35mm f/4L Aperture: f/13 ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 32/10 Focal Length: 30/1 I used a tripod which is necessary inside the canyon.Inspiration
This is such a beautiful canyon and I have wanted to shoot in there for some years.Editing
Oh, Yes. I have had comments that this photo may be a little overdone, but it is the way I wanted it to turn out. I love post production on photos. I shot this image in the raw format to give me a lot of latitude in making the photo into something I wanted. I cleaned up the many defined footprints in the sand floor and I brought out details within the canyon. Then went to work on the colouring with adding some subtle colours in the back portions of the canyon on the floor and walls, then bringing out the illuminated look at the front of the canyon. I also took time and fixed the hot spots where the direct light hit the inside canyon. In my camera bag
I carry my Canon Mark III, Canon 70-200mm f/4L, 24-70mm Sigma 2.8, Canon 16-35mm f/4L. A lens cleaning brush and a few filters.Feedback
Apparently the best time to capture the light beam is late summer and fall. Tripod is essential and a wide angle lens. If you are serious about getting a good shot, take a photographic tour. They allow you to set up around the mad crowd of people in the canyon.
