I recently took a road trip from Delta Junction in Alaska's Interior to Juneau in Alaska's Southeast. The trip starts with a 550-mile drive to Haines, Alaska, and ends with a four-hour-plus ferry ride to Juneau. Part of the route runs through Canada, primarily the Yukon Territory. Shortly after leaving the Alaska Highway, you see Dezadeash Lake to the east. This small campground is beautiful at any time of the year. On this trip, late September brought dramatic skies and gorgeous fall colors.
