Behind The Lens

Location

I took it at Yosemite national Park, in a place called, the taft point.

Time

We were finishing our day trekking arround the yosemite park and we didn't want to leave the place without seeing a last amazing sunset. We ran all the way to arrive just at the time where red and purples melt into shades bronze and orange letting glimpse, slowly, the awe-inspiring scenery.... It was an absolutely breathtaking view.

Lighting

I want this image to express that amazing view we where having, both the girl in the top of the rock, but also the one in the point view. The sunlight during the golden hour with all the shadows and the forrest and rivers at our feet.

Equipment

This was shot on a Fujifilm XT2 with the 18-55mm lenses.

Inspiration

I've seen some pics of theses place before being there; but when I arrived there I couldn't imagine that I was there, It was even more amazing that in the pictures. At the begining I was just amazed and I can do anything else than admire the views, after a few minutes I saw a friend of mine sitting down there and I feel the need to immortalize the moment... the views, the shadows, the light, the forest, the climb... everything.

Editing

In that case I only use the lightroom to balance the withes, expousure and colours, but not a lot of post-processing was necessary, the photo and it colours talks itself!

In my camera bag

For travel photography, like this case, I usually have my Fujifilm XT2, with the 18-55mm, 35mm 1/4 and 55-200mm lenses. Also a small tripod and some ND filters. Ah! and for sure 3 or 4 extra batteries and SD-Cards

Feedback

All the yosemite park is just amazing, and very photographic! Just follow the lights, there are everywhere here, between every tree, in every cliff... and do be afraid to the sunrise or sunset because the darkness before or after it, all the effort to see that lights show worst it!
