Khaltse or Khalsi is a village in the Leh district, where it crossed the Indus over an iron bridge. Much of its importance is because it is the place where the road from Kashmir debouches into the Indus Valley.
Entering Khaltse by the road from Leh, it is clear one is entering the heartland of Buddhism with its small stupas and prayer flags. Upstream from Khalatse, and downstream on the right bank of the Indus, the people are almost all Buddhist. Khalatse is also famous for its apricots.
PDW Batch 2 stop for lunch and after that i went to village to explore. The old baba was sitting outside his room with some kids. i was chatting with him and came to know that he is saying from last 75 yrs and from last year he is suffering from astama. He have small field where he planted vegetables and earning money.
