This is my beautiful robin friend Bold. He was a completely wild bird, but was brave enough to take mealworms from me when he was a newly-independent baby. Right from the outset, he was a feisty character, hence his name. He became happy to fly to me to take mealworms from my hand from almost anywhere in the garden and might remain perched there for a minute or so without rushing off. (This cost us a fortune in worms.) Here, he's allowing me to photograph him using my right hand, while he helps himself to mealworms from my left. I loved the feeling of his spiky little feet on my fingers.
