This photo was taken on our trip to Mackinac Island a few years ago. I thought it was a beautiful view with the Mackinac Bridge in the far distance. The first time I fell in love with the Island was as a kid on our 6th grade class trip there. We didn't stay long but I thought it was the most magical time and I always knew I would go back to visit!

The gardens are owned by the Grand Hotel that is located on the hill to the right. No vehicles are allowed on island but you can rent a bicycle or a horse drawn carriage, or just walk around. We did all three. The 1980 film "Somewhere in Time" was filmed on the Island at the Grand Hotel. The film starred Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymor & Christompher Plummer.
