In a land where the 'hidden people', aka Trolls, are still part of common belief, it comes as no surprise that many of the dramatic features found in Iceland can lead ones imagination towards mythology and fantastical creatures. Take this amazing rock formation in Hvitserkur (Northern Iceland) as an example, depending upon the angle of viewing this rock formation the shape of this rock takes on some very different tones.
Perhaps, like the trolls in the ancient stories that get turned to stone upon exposure to sunlight, this was in fact an ancient creature that was so engrossed in scouring the beach for food that it was hit be the sunlight and now remains as a permanent feature on this remote beach.
