This swift, deep stream is usually a bone dry road or trail located just off the Alaska Highway near Delta Junction, Alaska. All terrain vehicle (ATV) tracks are visible at the bottom of the picture. When heavy rains fall in the nearby mountains, the resulting runoff can cause the water to rise rapidly. With September colors reflecting in the water, it looks like molten metal.
