Taken early morning, about 0800Lighting
Taken in natural light on a clear, fine dayEquipment
I used a Nikon 1 J2 with a 10-30 lens, hand held but used railings as a steady.Inspiration
Inspiration was the ship being black and white and the older small boats at the side to add interest, making a atmospheric image in black and white.Editing
Little bit of processing, change from colour to black and white and a small amount of sharpening. In my camera bag
Nikon D3x, Tokina 28-80 lens, Tanron 18 - 270 lens, Sigma 28 - 200 and Nikon 50mm. Nikon 1 J2 with 10 - 30 lens ,Fuji X10 plus spare batteries.Feedback
I tend to shoot black and white when I can, because I think people look at the content, whereas colour photography tends to lead the eye to the bright colours. I always look at a scene and try to envisage it in black and white before shooting, doesn`t always work but I`m willing to try. Bracket every shot and try to vary the angle in both portrait and landscape shots.
