Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the area near my house. I saw this Red-Tailed Hawk in a tree nearby and I started taking photos of the hawk. Then it landed on the power line (seen in the photo), so I walked across the main road and around a tree (still taking photos of the hawk). And it never moved the whole time that I was taking it's photo. Actuation location is East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

Time

This photo was taken August 25th, 2016 @ 12:39pm.

Lighting

Like almost all of my photos, the only lighting that I used was 'NATURAL' lighting from our Sun.

Equipment

Camera: Canon EOS Digital REBAL XS, F-stop: F/6.3, Exposure time: 1/320 sec., ISO Speed: ISO-200, Focal length: 250mm

Inspiration

I have been taking photos of the wild life around my home for several years now. I have always been interested in Hawks, going up out in the woods you get to know what animals live around your environment and what time of year they are around and where to go to try to improve on past photos that you have taken.

Editing

The most post-processing that I do is to 'crop' my photos.

In my camera bag

Feedback

If you plan on taking photos of wild life that live around your area; 1) make sure that you know what your subject is capable of doing if you get to close, 2) make sure that you have plenty of room on your SD card, and 3) that you are carrying an extra battery.
