I was hiking in Glacier National Park in the spring and was sitting enjoying the view of the valley below when a small herd of mountain goats (Oreamnos americanus) appeared and crossed the ridge a short distance form the rocks I was perched on. The adults feasted on the grass and new shoots sprouting up from the plant life, while several kids scampered behind their nannies.
