The high-speed train station Mediopadana designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava is a canopy of white steel and glass, which stands on the tracks of the high-speed line.
The train station is 483 meters long and has an average width of 20 m. The curve corresponds to a sine curve, which is obtained from a series of portals having a closed cross-section and differing geometry.
Inside, there are two levels, the ground floor in direct contact with the entrance and the street is the ticket counters and the other station offers reserved. About the escalators to get to the first floor, where the tracks and platforms are. Here is the dynamics and the sense of movement, the structure of the traveler notifies can be seen in photographs of Gianluca Giordano, as well as the diffuse brightness that pervades the entire space.
