Location
This shot was taken on a friend's property in New Hampshire just a few days after New Year 2010Time
It was mid-morning (around 10:30?) on an early January day. It had snowed big time the night before and I decided to take a walk around my friend's property which was sizable. The snow was still untouched, the air crisp and cold yet the sun warmed me.Lighting
I was using the natural available lighting. The mid-morning angle of the sun combined with the fresh snow made for some interesting shadows and highlights.Equipment
Just used what I happened to have with me. A Canon PowerShot A1000 IS. Of course built in lens f/8, 1/200, ISO 80Inspiration
It was pretty early on in my photography journey (Canon PowerShot) but I loved capturing what I thought were interesting views. Even though learning the technicalities would come much later (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) I spent a lot of time looking which I believe helped me in my composition.Editing
Not a lot other than the conversion to black and white. I liked the original shot but I think the B&W added a little more drama. In my camera bag
This picture is over 10 years old. These days I carry a Nikon D5100 with several lenses in my bag (a couple zooms, a prime 50mm and a wide angle)Feedback
This was in New Hampshire in January. New England in winter is just going to have so many beautiful and interesting views. Take a drive. Get out and walk. have a back up battery.
