This was taken from the bow of the USS Alabama, it was in service in WW2 but is now a national museum in Mobile Bay, Alabama. It has been used in many films and movies:
Part of the Abbott and Costello movie In the Navy takes place on a fictional USS Alabama battleship. The movie was shot in 1941, before USS Alabama (BB-60) was commissioned in 1942.[10][unreliable source?]
The ship had a major role in a 1975 episode of the TV show Movin' On in which the show's leading actor, Claude Akins, rescues a boy who has climbed to the top of the ship's mast to seek publicity.
The ship was used as a stand in for USS Iowa in the ABC miniseries War and Remembrance (1988). The number 60 is clearly visible during one of the scenes.[citation needed]
The opening scene of the low-budget, David A. Prior action movie, Rapid Fire (1989), was filmed aboard Alabama.[citation needed]
Although the action was supposed to be occurring aboard Missouri, and that ship was shown in some of the footage, Alabama was used for most of the battleship scenes in the action film Under Siege (1992).[citation needed]
The ship was used in the film USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage starring Nicolas Cage. Filming began in Mobile on June 22, 2015.[citation needed]
