Location
This photo was taken at Destin Florida from the deck of our condo. Every night there is something new to record, some sunsets are spectacular. It's very nice waiting for the show with a nice glass of Scotch and Soda to toast the setting sun. This is one of my favourites.Time
This was taken in Early March around 5:45 pmLighting
I always take my sunsets underexposed my 2 stops. It really brings out the colours.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 6D using my EF 24-105 lens. Hand held.Inspiration
Every winter sunset I sit in the deck...a Scotch and Soda toast to the day. Camera is always nearby to capture the best ones. Nothing nicer this sunsets over the west coast of Florida.Editing
I used Lightroom minimally to adjust the saturation slightly. That's all I did on this one. It added a bit of depth on the colours. In my camera bag
I carry a Canon EOS 6D with a 24-105 lens. It is normally on my camera as it is very versatile. I also carry a Canon f1.4- 50mm lens and my next lens will be a 100mm macro. I carry a 600EX-RT Speedlite flash that I love. I also carry a multiple coated variable ND filter for daylight long exposures. I have a miniature tripod in my bag and attach a Manfrotto 290 dual tripod for heavy duty terrain and windy days.Feedback
Again it is essential to move off the Auto setting. Like I mentioned I always take sunsets 2 stops under exposed using the exposure compensation +\- setting. It is helpful to use the "Live View" to adjust the exposure to your liking. Remember it is easier to adjust your exposure from an underexposed picture than a washed out over exposed picture in post processing.
