This is a rare, "threatened" or "closed be being endangered" mono-genus (or geneticallyone-of-a-kind) wolf only seen in South America. It is a solitary animal and seen with a mate only in mating season. Mature males are bigger than females and that is the only way to distinguish them apart. It has big ears, while tip at the tail and dark colors near the feet similar to red foxes. It is almost four feet tall with its ears up. I was fortunate to see this gorgeous animal while visiting Santuario do Caraca, Minus Gerias, Brazil because the priests here have been feeding this one family for decades. Only one of them will come alone to feed at one time.
