This shot was taken when I visited the iconic Railways Station in Dunedin, New Zealand. It was in the late afternoon and there were only a few visitors at that time, the classical beauty of the staircase with its wrought iron balustrade attracted my attention, the warm sunlight illuminated part of the beautifully designed balustrade, I instantly took a shot while my wife was walking down the staircase.

Location
It was taken at the railway station in Dunedin, New Zealand.Time
We visited the railway station in the afternoon, it was a wet and cloudy day in summer, so we opted to stay indoors most of the time.Lighting
I was very much intrigued by the warm sunlight shining through the window at that time, as my wife walking down the staircase, I just took the shot from a birdseye perspective, as to frame the image, I deliberately included the nearby balustrade as well.Equipment
Nikon D-750, handheldInspiration
I always like photos with lines and patterns, the repetitions of the steps, and the wrought iron designs of the balustrade just told me this was a good spot to take a photo.Editing
I used Lightroom software to enhance the basic features, like contrast, sharpness, and noise reduction as I had to shoot with high ISO as it was indoors. In my camera bag
A wide-angle lens, a 50mm lens, and a few filters.Feedback
Staircases are enchanting structures to take fabulous photos, just pick a spot that magnifies the beauty of repetitions.
