Trying something new today, had a spare watch and some LED fairy lights so created this composition and tried to get a reasonable amount of bokeh from the lights, the shot was taken on the bathroom floor which has some nice shiny ceramic floor tiles.

Well, this image was taken on the tiled floor of my on-suite bathroom, there wasn't much room to get the shot in without including any of the usual bathroom accompaniments! The tiles are nice and shiny which is why I wanted to use this area as I thought I could get some nice reflections.Time
I can't exactly remember what the time was but I know. I didn't want too much ambient light coming so I waited until later on in the day to take the shot.Lighting
I used LED fairy lights in the background, hoping for a once Bokeh effect and I also used a focused LED lamp to shine some more light on the face of the watch, otherwise, it was with lights out and ambient light only.Equipment
Nikon D&100 camera, Lens was 35mm Nikon. I also used a LED light source for the face of the watch which I focused into a cone of light using some foil on the light itself.Inspiration
I was quite interested in reflections within photos at the time and had this watch which I wanted to do something with but wasn't quite sure what, then I thought about the tiled floor in the bathroom and using the fairy lights in the background and it all seemed to come together.Editing
I had to crop a bit more as I didn't fully exclude bathroom furniture in the original shot, I also tweaked exposure and highlights in Lightroom and added a bit of clarity.In my camera bag
It depends what I'm doing really, although to be fair most of my work is landscape so I only have the one D7100 body, a 10-20mm Sigma lens and a Nikon 18-300 mm for that, a tripod of course with the usual ND filters and cable release etc for those long exposure shots. And then of course, the ubiquitous flask of tea and sandwich for those long patrols looking for the best scene and light!Feedback
This was my first attempt at this kind of 'still art' shot so I am by no means the expert, however, I would suggest that you don't be afraid to experiment and allow plenty time for practice shots and failures until you get the look you are happy with.
