Behind The Lens

Location

The kittens where on the back porch of our apartment. I was coming back inside from a walk with the dog and my camera. As I walked up the front stairs I saw them sitting like that and took several pictures.

Time

It was around 6:30pm I think. Maybe a little later because the sun was just beginning to set.

Lighting

The lighting was natural. I didn't edit the picture in any way. I saw the sun hitting them and decided to try and capture what I was seeing.

Equipment

I used a Nikon coolpix L820. I was holding the camera and no extra equipment was used.

Inspiration

I thought they looked so cute sitting like that and tried to capture what I was seeing.

Editing

I did not do any post processing on this photo. I was lucky enough not to need any. Except I cropped just the very edge on the right side so the neighbors stairs where not seen.

In my camera bag

Just my camera. If not my camera I use my phone.

Feedback

Just keep shooting. Take multiple pictures of the same subject from different angles or positions. Be creative with your shots and you will take some great ones too. A professor once told me "You have to take a hundred shots to get one good one." It's true, but it's also fun.
