Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken at the nursing home where we had all gathered to say our last goodbye’s to grandpa.

Time

It was a very impromptu photo shoot. I captured some very candid moments of many members saying goodbye. As for the time, I to not remember, as the day was a complete blur.

Lighting

We opened the curtains so grandpa could enjoy the sunlight and we could all just be.

Equipment

I used what I had, my phone, as we had been notified he only had a few hours left.

Inspiration

To have memories, as they say a picture is worth a thousand words. The last ones of grandpa are more precious than gold.

Editing

I just shot in black and white. Photos like this don’t need color to interfere. They just need to be about a moment caught between people.

In my camera bag

Lens, lens wipes, batteries and a ziplock bag

Feedback

Just keep taking photos because someday that is the only thing we physically have left of that person. Memories are important and photos capture them so very well.
