Behind The Lens

Location

Honestly, I had to sneak into my new neighbor’s backyard to capture this photo. I could see a circle of mushrooms from kitchen window in my neighbor’s yard. Luckily, they do not have a fence around their yard. I am sure my new neighbor probably thinks I am out of my mind. To capture this photo, I literally had to roll around on the ground to get the angle I needed. The photo is one of my absolute favorites. Not only because of the wonderful detail of the mushroom I was able to capture but It always makes me chuckle to myself imagining what my neighbor thought I was doing that morning rolling around in his yard. Because I did see him standing in the his living room window with a confused look on his face as I walked out of his yard smiling.

Time

It was bright and early on a weekend.

Lighting

The lighting was created by Mother Nature. I did not have to do any editing to this photo.

Equipment

I used my Canon Rebel t3i.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the natural light and perfect circle of mushrooms. I like to refer the lucky circle of mushrooms as a “Fairy Ring”.

Editing

I may have cropped it a bit but that it is. Mother Nature did all the editing before I took the shot.

In my camera bag

My Canon or my mirrorless Sony. A few lenses and that’s about it.
