Location
This was a chance spotting. I had to drive my sister somewhere early in the morning. I was never up early, so I never really caught sunrise photos. It was winter and it was foggy and as I drove past this paddock, the way the fog and light brought out the shadow shape of the trees just captivated me. I literally did a U turn and went back to capture the moment.Time
I cannot remember the date, but it was around seven in the morning, in the middle of winter in an outer suburb of Western Sydney.Lighting
The lighting in this shot was provided entirely by Mother Nature. It was shot as I saw it, no real editing or set up required.Equipment
Nothing grander than my old iPhone 6sInspiration
It's one of those rare moments where a glmpse of something made me go 'wow!' And an even more rare moment in that I had the time and space to stop, consider the angle and take the shot.Editing
Only very minor and in Snapseed on my phone. The colour and the light was already there. I just had to bring up the exposure a little and lighten the tree trunks so you could make out the mottled bark.In my camera bag
My phone, lenses and now a tripod...Feedback
Always try to pick an interesting angle. Something that will capture the light and the shadows cast at its best. Try low angles, or high if you can and try not to make it look too busy. It's not about packing as much as you can into a landscape, more about focusing on having the one thing that makes an image pop.
