Location
Actually I photographed Jesse in my hot tub in my back yard.Time
This was shot around 2pm in the afternoon. I have no direct sunlight in my backyard it is complete covered in trees.Lighting
Some of the yellow tinge you might see it his skin comes from his tan and it comes from the yellow/gold wood deck behind me. Diffusion from the trees above create a perfect softbox for me.Equipment
Canon 1dx, Sigma 85mm 1.4 lens @ 2.2 / 160th of a sec shutter speed - No Flash or bounce was used.Inspiration
Jesse moved up to the front of the pool while I was sitting at the bottom step of the deck and I lifted the camera and there it was.Editing
Jesse is 19 and has nearly perfect skin. This is one of the odd shots where I did not use ANY Photoshop. I did bring it into the RAM filter.. but nothing was needed so I exported it to a .psd and then a .jpg at full res for viewbug. In my camera bag
1dx, Canon 28 to 70mm 2.8L, Canon 100mm 2.0, Sigma 85mm 1.4, Canon 50mm 1.4, 600 series flashes and Magmod.Feedback
Keep it simple. Take your time with the model and help them be themselves. Don't include too much surroundings. Always keep your aperture shallow when shooting portraits.
