I actually took this photo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada.Time
It was a cloudy day and somewhat misty in the air as well as a few sun spots coming through. It was maybe an hour before noon. It was surreal as it looked like I was in England given the amount of mist in the air.Lighting
The surrounding did not have direct light.. only in a few areas where the sun was slowly breaking through. It was like working with a softbox.Equipment
This was shot with a Fuji Camera. At the time I was photographing for a few years for them and so they sent me a new camera every few months. It was early in the digital world. No flash.Inspiration
I thought it was cool seeing two guys talking behind the propeller and did not think that I would actually get them in focus.. but it did happen. The composition was laid out for me and I lifted the camera.. right away. I was fearful they would walk away before I got the shot.Editing
I just changed exposure a bit. Nothing too dramatic. I increased the exposure a bit. The white in the photo brought down the exposure a bit. It was early digital so the slower shutter speed helped.In my camera bag
I have not shot with a point and shoot for years. I use Canon Digital SLR's and L lenses typically. One lens I use in particular is a 100mm 2.0 Canon lens and it is my go to lens for portraits. It is not an L lens but it should be. Magmod is a must for my flashes. I stick to OEM and have found Godox etc stuff only works well for a short time.Feedback
AEB - Bracketing is your best bet. Keep in mind you never ever get to duplicate a shot. (rarely) so take a lot of shots. It is not unusual for me to take 50-60 shots of the same thing.. and get one or two great shots from it.
