I've never photographed fire before but knew it wasn't as bright as the sun. I prepared my camera settings as if photographing a late evening wedding reception with low light: ISO 500, f-2.8 and 1-50s. The dancer lit the hoop right when the sun went down and she flowed slowly from pose to pose to prevent too much motion blur.
