Just luck, they don’t usually stay still to get a shot like this.

Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my garden amongst the beautiful lavender bushes that the bees love to frequent from dusk till dawn.

Time

This was taken around 5pm. I just finished dinner and thought I would get a few shots before putting the kids to bed.

Lighting

This was a very sunny day which provided a great natural light.

Equipment

This was shot with my first DSLR. A canon 1300D with a macro lens attached.

Inspiration

I love watching the bees fly back and forth. I wanted a shot to remind me how great and important these little guys are.

Editing

Brought out the green and purple in the lavender.

In my camera bag

Now I always have with me my Tamron SP 24-70mm f2.8 Di vc usd and an ND1000 filter.

Feedback

Places with plenty of flowers attract bees so even if you don’t get a shot with them, there’s always going to be something interesting.
