Taken on a tour through Switzerland, these tree said "take a pic of me", so that's what I did! I love the mystery in this photo. There was a ginormous mountain in the background, but you'd never know it.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture on the side of a mountain in Switzerland. I was travelling there with a group, waiting to go up to the top, and this tree was screaming to be captured. I was praying for snow and was blessed with this beautiful scene.

Time

Our group had arrived at the mountain mid morning. We had taken the gondola up halfway, and we all had time to wander and do our own thing. Everyone stuck close to the gondola while I ventured off into the snow, the trees were calling me as they usually do. And this guy caught my eye!

Lighting

It was quite snowy and dark, and I was quite new to photography still when this photo was taken.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D60 just with the standard kit lens. Proving that you don't need anything fancy to capture a beautiful shot! We all have to start somewhere!

Inspiration

I've always had a thing for trees. They talk to me, I am attracted to their beauty and energy. I loved the way the snow sat on each limb, making this picture a magical snowy scene.

Editing

This image is unedited!

In my camera bag

I always have 2-3 lenses, a good microfiber cloth to clean my lens, and snacks haha!

Feedback

Get outside and don't be afraid to get off the beaten track.
