I was (am) working on a project showing the plights of the mentally ill, and trying to not only show what it is really like, but also trying to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions; trying to undo some of the prejudice and discrimination against those suffering from mental illnesses. I hope that my work will someday help to dispel the idea that all homeless people are runaways, drug addicts, or don't want help. As someone who has lived with Bi-Polar disorder for approximately 32 years, I can personally tell you, that it's hard to ask for help, and it's even worse for those who have no-one they trust to turn to.
