In January of 2018 I took a trip out to New Mexico in order to shoot the lunar eclipse late in that month. For my site I chose the eminently recognizable Very Large Array in Socorro, NM. The eclipse was nice but I lost many of the good images I was hoping to obtain as the full eclipse dove behind a bank of clouds in the west as the moon began to set. I was saved however by the dawn. As the sun rose in the east just an hour later the soft dawn colors brought the landscape to life in a way on sunlight can in a desert.
