I drove all the way from Lago di Garda just to get here and was was rewarded with the magnificent views from the Passo di Giau back down to Colle Santa Lucia and onto Cortina d'Ampezzo in the other direction. In the middle of summer yet the night sky was so clear and the Milky Way so vibrant I felt I could reach out and touch it. Not the kind of skies I expect back in Scotland at this time of year!
