Kandy Time... It's known as the place where the sacred Tooth Telic of Buddha is being held.
The tooth relic was a vital necessity of the king to sit on the throne in ancient Sri Lanka. There were wars to claim the ownership & also during threatened times it was protected with life. The last known person who had the tooth relic was Veediya Bandara of Kotte Kingdom who was killed in Jaffna. Folklore says then it was transferred to the Kandy Kingdom.
