Behind The Lens
Location
This image was shot on a sheep farm in Elaine rural Victoria Australia, about 2 hours drive from Melbourne. The actual farmhouse is not visible as it's behind the trees on the right side of this shot.Time
shot at 5:48 pm about 1-2 hours before dusk on a winters day in July (Australia)Lighting
Afternoon light with sun descending throwing long shadows, I added extra warmth during post to accentuate the rolling cloudsEquipment
Nikon D3200 with standard 18-55 lens at F16, 1/125sec, ISO 1600 with a focal length of 56mmInspiration
I was specifically walking about looking for lines ie: shooting down fences with the barbed wire leading etc. when I shot the wheat with lines leading to the dam and shearing shedEditing
In post I added some warmth and a little contrastIn my camera bag
Daytime: A Nikon D810 full frame, with a 14-24 ultra wide, a 28-300 telephoto and a 50mm prime, Nikon D3200 dx, with standard 18-55 lens. Some lens wipes and a lens pen. Night-time: I will add a tripod, a wireless remote and a torch to my kit.Feedback
Keep the horizon level, shoot RAW, shoot a lot, shoot early and late in the day and play around a bit in post
