After a chilly afternoon at Skipwith I thought I'd head over on the way home to see what this comp looked like in the snow. From ground level it looked like there wouldn't be enough snow cover to hide the crop. Feeling tired cold and already having unpacked and packed up the drone several times I decided I couldn't be bothered so I turned the car around to head home. I then told myself conditions like this don't happen regularly so I need to get my finger out. I parked back up and unpacked everything AGAIN! I lined up the shot and got 5 or so shots at different altitudes, this one being my favourite composition. A second after clicking the shutter my iPad died due to the -5deg temperature and I lost the data link with the drone. Fortunately I still had control of the craft via the controller so landed it. Lesson learnt, not only do I need to keep drone batteries warm the iPad does too!
