Driving home one early evening from a walk in Grasmere I took the shortcut through St Johns in the Vale to the A66 to Penrith. I came face to face with a stunning view of this iconic mountain with the evening sun lighting up the snow-capped summit. I am not sure the photograph does it full justice but I did my best at short notice.
