Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at night during a thunderstorm at Pensacola Beach in Pensacola, Florida.

Time

This is one of my favorite photos taken at night during a thunderstorm over the ocean.

Lighting

I wanted a shot that showed the beauty of the lightning strikes of the storm. There was no lighting except for the light provided by the lightning.

Equipment

I typically use my Canon T6 Rebel, but for this show all I had with me was my Samsung Galaxy Note 9. I captured this still shot from a video recording I took using the phone.

Inspiration

I am just an amateur photographer who loves to take photos of nature. I love thunderstorms and I really wanted to capture the beauty of the lightning strikes over the ocean.

Editing

No post-processing was done

In my camera bag

I typically just have my Canon Rebel T6 with my 18-55mm lense and my 75-300mm zoom lense, along with UV filters and my tripod.

Feedback

It takes a lot of patience to capture the perfect lightning strike, but the outcome is definitely worth it, so don't get discouraged.
