I photographed this stallion and his almost identical mare last fall in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. I followed the horses to the top of a ridge where I was able to watch them feed and interact with each other. Of course I maintained a respectable distance between us and captured this image with a 400mm. lease on a crop-factor camera.
