Location
I took this photo in the fields next to Raytharn Farm in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania. My hometown.Time
I had been wanting to try my hand at capturing some sunrise photos so I got up early in the morning before the sun had come up. Don't remember the specific time but it was probably around 5 or 5:30am. I definitely got there in time to snap quite around 100 photos of the sun rising. One of those happens to be another photo of mine that I have posted. It was after I had packed up all my equipment and started to head back to the trail (I was in the middle of a dew-covered, overgrown field) when I quite literally almost walked into this huge spider web. I was quite surprised and I just had to take my camera back out and take a few pics.Lighting
I am a photographer who likes to work with natural lighting so when it came to this specific photo I had the already risen sun behind the spider. To be honest I didn't even think about lighting with this photo. I was too carried away in the moment.Equipment
I use a Rebel T5i Canon with several different lenses and I do have a tripod and a few other accessories too. For this photo I probably should've used a tripod but I had just packed it up so I didn't bother taking it back out. I used a 50mm lens for this one. Unfortunately at the time I didn't own a macro lens.Inspiration
I almost walked into a palm-sized spider sitting in the middle of a huge spider web. I don't know about you but my inspiration almost hit me in the face.Editing
I did do some post-processing on with this photo considering the majority of the light was coming from behind the subject. I have the Adobe Creative Cloud that I use for all my editing and I mostly use Lightroom. After my usual editing I had to go over the spider with an exposure brush to make it possible to see all the details. Didn't have to do that much but you can hardly tell that I did.In my camera bag
I carry all my equipment in a [Pro]Master Cityscape 70 backpack. I put everything I got in it which would include; Rebel T5i body, 60mm ultrasonic macro lens, 10-18mm, 18-55mm, 55-250mm, 50mm, lens cleaners, several filters, [Pro]Master Swift Strap, and an XC525C Professional Carbon Fiber Tripod.Feedback
I'd probably be the last person to ask for advice considering I'm still quite the amateur but my best piece of advice would have to be to always lookout for what's right in front of you. You don't quite realize how much you're missing until you really open your eyes.
