Once a year, I photograph a gymnastics team in my area. Each year I try to get more creative with some of the portraits.

This year, I used 2 fog machines, with 2 strobes to create this effect in camera. 3 strobes were used total, 1 was placed in a 60 inch softlighter as the main light, the other 2 strobes are at 10, and 2 behind the gymnast with 20 degree grids. I place a fog machine under each of the 2 strobes in the back, and both the fog machines, and strobes were aim toward the center where the gymnasts were standing.

The back 2 strobes, not only lit up the fog from the fog machines, but they also acted as hair lights.
