Behind The Lens

Location

this photo was taken at community arts center in johnstown, pa.

Time

this photo was taken as the sun was setting on june 7, 2018.

Lighting

the lighting was great and using my telephoto lens to throw background out of focus to put more attention to our model.

Equipment

equipment i used was nikon d750, my nikon 70-200mm at 200mm at f9, iso 800, shutter speed 1/200 sec. i also used my nikon 900 speedlight set to ttl so it did not send out too much flash but filled in face since the sun was behind model.

Inspiration

the light was really great for this type of photo and i shot over 50 photos to find the one i liked, the reason for this shoot every june the johnstown camera club does a car and model shoot but i noticed the light was better were i placed model thats why you don,t see car.

Editing

i usually just use lightroom classic to process my images, i usually bump up contrast and turn down highlights.

In my camera bag

in my camera bag i usually have my full frame nikon d750 camera, my backup camera the nikon d90. my lenses are nikon 70-200 mm f4, tamron 24-70 mm 2.8, nikon 105mm macro lens f2.8 and my nikon 900 speedlight.

Feedback

when you have great light as i had for this picture shoot as much as you can because you don,t know how long it will last and having a experienced model helps also.
