Behind The Lens

Location

this photo taken in small town close to me windber,pa. on grounds of medical center with nice landscaped yard.

Time

this was taken late afternoon, around 4 with good light in aug.

Lighting

mostly natural light with diffused flash.

Equipment

this was a few years ago when i used nikon d90 and the 18-105 kit lens which was sharp. since then i upgraded to nikon d750 and use mostly my nikon 70-200 f4 and my tamoron 24-70 f2.8 lens, also my nikon sb900 flash.

Inspiration

i used to do a lot of weddings and this photo taken at a wedding class i gave and had one of my photographer friends help me, this photo was taken during my class, and had about 4 other people interested who attented this class.

Editing

i usually use lightroom classic for all my processing.

In my camera bag

As i mentioned above i usually have my nikon d750 and lenses i mentioned and my sb900 flash and my gary fong lightspere, other lenses nikon 105 2.8 macro lens, 50mm 1.8 normal lens. when i shoot at night i have a lumenator which is a small led light to throw some light on subject.

Feedback

if you like to do portraits get some of your friends to model for you to learn your craft and they will be relaxed because they know you and will give you the experience you need. joining a camera club or professional group of photographers and on line training like creative live.com will be a big help in learning to do professional photography.
