Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the Lake of Garda,Italy 01.10.2017. The model was my wife. Left side: stonewall, right side stones. Before is the Lake.

Time

11 AM

Lighting

It was a great sunshine.

Equipment

I use analog camera Nikon F65 (or N65 as it is known in the U.S.), with Voigtlander 65 mm lens /18-35/ and Cokin Difuse & bicolor filter (together). The film was Kodak Ektar 100. In "Manual" mode used I the camera.

Inspiration

My goal was: 1. Technical: Show for the audience a typical hand manipulated picture with original small size analog camera & fisheye & filter(s). The old analog set what show for us in 2018? :-) 2. Artistic: If you're a man, you may need muso.

Editing

I use CorelPaintShopProX9 software on "soften" mode.(Only the background.)

In my camera bag

When I work with small film format,my bag is: 1. Nikon F65, with Voigtlander 65 mm /18-35/ & or Chinon 50mm 1:1,4 2.Leica R7/Vario Elmar-R 1:4 35-70. 3. Films: Kodak Ektar (color) 100, Ilford delta 100 (b&w) 4. Cokin filters

Feedback

Analog small film photography is the first step on a long way. If you can shoot with an analog camera, with manual adjustment and calibration optics, you will be able to work well with automatic machines, lenses. In order to understand the essential elements of photography - my opinion - you must first acquire analogue photos... Cokin filters can be purchased by anyone in a secondhand shop and you can create a color and distortion sequence as you like. The use of filters teaches the photographer to paint with colors and shadows, too.
