Location
Took this photo over at my local park in the county of Suffolk, Britain.Time
I was taking a walk in the park with my camera in the mid afternoon on a fresh autumn day in October. This little Robin was happily feeding away on these berries. He wasn’t bothered by the fact that I was taking photos of him and getting closer to him. He just carried on pecking and eating.Lighting
There was beautiful light shining on this bird from the low lying sun. I noticed the beautiful light shining thru the trees making the background pop with light. I loved how the natural light was making a beautiful bokeh in the background.Equipment
Nikon D7100, An older model Sigma 120-400mm lensInspiration
I am inspired by the natural beauty in the world around me. I am inspired by animals and other wildlife and I’m always trying to capture that special moment where the characteristics and whimsical expressions of these beautiful creatures are bought out and bought to life. This is my inspiration throughout all my work. What I like about this particular photograph is how content and happy this little bird looked. I also like the autumnal look with the berries too.Editing
I try to keep post processing to a minimum. What you see is really what you get with my photography. If I do use post processing tools my ‘go to’ is Lightroom. In my camera bag
My photo bag consists of my Nikon d7100, my Nikon 18-140, sigma 120-400, nikon 1.8 35mm, sigma 3.5 10-20mm I also use a Sony a5000 with 3.5 30mm macro lens. I do all my nature and wildlife shots handheld.Feedback
Patience is needed...and a lot of it. Knowledge of your subjects habitat and surroundings is needed and a lot of luck in getting that perfect shot!
