The Las Conchas fire in 2011 burennd parts of teh southeastern Jemez Mountains in New Mexico, including parts of the Valles Caldera Nat'l Preserve.
The fire was recent enough (seven years) that most of teh dead trees ae still standing. But shrubs-bushes - mostly Gambel Oak - are filling in underneath.
